Debre Damos

Debre Damos is a mountain with a very old (6th century) and famous monastery in Ethiopia. The monastery is placed on the top of the mountain and can be visited by tourists (when we were there were only men were allowed to enter).

A little problem is the entrance. The only door is 15 m high in a vertical rock wall and is accessible only by a self-made leather rope. It’s funny to go up and down.

  5. Cool view of the monastery! It looks like an awkward place for tourists to visit. Great photos. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

  7. What an interesting place. I'd be too scared to go up that ladder.
