In the orchid forest

Some orchids in the orchid forest in Lichtenegg in Southern Germany. The area is famous for the mass occurrence of wild lady's-slipper orchids of the species Cypripedium calceolus, but there are many other species.

The Birds-nest Orchid (Neottia nidus-avis) a parasitic orchid without any chlorophyll. The plant needs 9 year for the first flower.
