In the High Tatra Mountains

These are just a few impressions of rainy days in the High Tatra Mountains in Slovakia. Despite the weather, the Tatra is an interesting place and (for central European conditions) very wild. We had not the luck to see a bear, but there are many other things to observe.

The Carpathian Snowbell (Soldanella carpatica) is endemic to the High Tatra.

A white Ranunculus, maybe Ranunculus platanifolius.

Red Campion Silene dioica
A Red Campion, the flower is suspected as indicator for heavy metals in the soil.
