Trithemis dragonflies

Trithemis dragonflies are one of the most common dragonlfies in Eastern Africa and can be found along rivers and ponds. This should be a Trithemis arteriosa, but  I'm not sure.

  1. Beautiful dragonfly! We have the exotic Scarlet Skimmer here in Florida but it has clear wings.

  4. The bright scarlet on the wings as well really gives the dragonfly a fancy fringe, and the second photo with the light catching the edges of the wings is amazing.

  7. Beautiful! I especially love the way you've caught the delicate wings in the second photo.
