The hyena caves in Awash/Ethiopia

The hyena caves near the Awash National Park in Ethiopia are a tourist attraction for viewing Spotted Hyenas. They live in small caves and sleep there during the day time. After sunset, the hyenas come out for hunting and can be observed from the vicinity of few meters. There was different information about the size of the group; it is ranging between 40 and 250 (!) individuals. Nevertheless, hyenas were everywhere and it is a magnificent natural spectacle, see them coming out of their caves and leaving the area in small groups.
We were on foot there and had a funny walk back to the road in the night; a bit like Little Red Riding Hood in the woods. Excuse the quality of the photos; I made it with ISO 6400 in the darkness.
