Sigiriya in Sri Lanka

I made these photos some years ago during a trip in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is an ancient palace placed on a large monolithic rock. The palace was built in the 5th century B.C. and is famous for some frescoes painted in the rock walls. The paintings are called cloud girls and the remains of a large picture gallery. From 500 frescoes 22 are preserved.
