Birds of the Abuko rice fields

The Abuko rice fields are a famous birding area in Gambia. They are located directly opposite the main entrance to the Abuko Nature Reserve. The access is easy and birds can be observed along the field dams and small ways. A mixture of rice fields, tree plantations, mangrove forests with mud flats and the near forest of the Abuko Reserve creates an ideal habitat for many bird species.
