Black Birds

A pair of Black Birds in a city park. Black Birds are the most common birds in the cities of middle Europe. During the last years, their numbers declined drastically. The reasons are unclear some were infected by the Usutu virus that is similar to encephalitis. Another reason could be the environmental changes in and around the cities.

  8. Great photos of the Black Birds. Where they have been taken overseas they have too often become real pests!

  12. Just shows that you don't have to be flash colours to be good looking - we have these birds here - and they dig up our garden beds!

  15. I'm fascinated that blackbirds are on the decline in parts of Europe. Our Rusty Blackbirds are also suffering a decline.
