Nile Monitors

Nile monitors in the Awash National Park in Ethiopia. They had gathered in the evening around a tree.

  1. Critters, uh...alligator/crocodile babies? Salamanders? Sometimes hard to get into pictures, some are very fast. I especially love the knots and pumps on the three trunk. A great tropical nature photo!

  2. I love these photos, we don't have creatures like this in our area. Now you have me curious about where you live, with your comment on mountains in January. Here in Colorado it's easy to get deep into the mountains any time of year, I frequently take my ancient car there, sometimes more than 4km above sea level in the summer.

  3. Great looking animals - they look like a lot like our goannas.

  4. Beautiful to look at, but I would absolutely freak out if I saw one in person!

Thank you for the comment and the visit.
