Zinc chloride under the microscope

Zinc chloride is used for a number of applications, among them fingerprint detection on crime scenes. It is reacting with amino acids and form a color with the name “Ruhemann’s purple".

Zinc acetate under the microscope

Zinc acetate is a chemical compund that is used as food additive (E 650) in chewing gum. The photos are made under polarized light.
