Greater Celandine

Greater Celandine or Tetterwort (Chelidonium majus) is a flower that is used in pharmacy. It contains a yellow to orange latex that shows a weak red fluorescence in ultraviolett light.

Variable Sunbird

A Variable Sunbird (Cinnyris venustus or Nectarinia venusta) in Ethiopia. It is a common resident the area and  can often be seen in bushland. These are two male birds in agricultural bushland near a village.

Flower and Fluorescein

A somewhat unusual photo of a white rose, a little fluorescein (a color used as marker in ultraviolet light) was added to the water and the flower takes it up. In ultraviolet light, the veins stand out and show their unique pattern.
