Mold in ultraviolet light

Mold has different colors depending on the wavelength of light. This is an example of mold, crown on old bread. They are two types or species of mold (I think it is one species building a cycle with some fruiting bodies). One has a grey to white color with a fibroid structure that is forming a cycle. The other type is yellow with a nodular structure. Under long wave ultraviolet light the yellow type shows a red luminescence and in short wave ultraviolet light a light greenish color.

  1. The R-18 utilized photo-catalytic oxidation, uses the combination of Ultraviolet (UV) light and Titanium Dioxide (TIO2), to kill volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the air as they pass through the R-18 before they enter the duct system and spread throughout your home or office.
UV Light is a great product to purify water, air etc. Ultra violet light, such as that found in a UV light air purifier, can kill toxic substances in your home, greatly reducing allergens, killing germs and enhancing your family’s health. Visit to know more Air Care UV.
