Ethiopia in infrared light

This is just an example of my infrared photography. All pictures are made in Tigray/Northern Ethiopia, in a dry, almost arid landscape with high volcanic mountains and little vegetation. The high altitude (2300 m NN) and the near distance to the equator provide good conditions for infrared photography. The camera was a modified Canon EOS 350 (with removed internal filter) and a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3,5-5,6 IS USM lens. As filter, a 720 nm infrared filter was used.

Farmer house with corn field.

Teff fields (dwarf millet) surrounded by mountains.

Mountain area with few teff fields, eucalyptus-, acacia- and euphorbia trees.
